Frequently Asked Questions

  • The after-paint is executed in my studio. I create a painting based on your favourite photos. Every aspect of this fine detailed crafted painting is carefully planned and executed.

The live wedding painting is created in real time, on location (en plain air), a kind of entertainment for your guests, who can witness how a painting unfolds before their eyes, from blank canvas to finished painting in the duration of your event.

    • Together with all vendors we take care that the wedded couple just enjoy the day. To help things go smoothly, share with me the contact number from the wedding planner or best man [or whoever might be in charge for the logistics] to arrange any situation.

    • I’ll check with the venue manager or your best man / wedding planner if there is a possibility for me to arrive 2-3 hours earlier to the selected location, to set up the easel and start working on the first layers of the painting.

    • Our meeting point will be on your chosen location, where I will take the reference photo for the painting. You can share with me a floor map from the site, a photo or a very clear description to find the spot where you would love to be portrayed.

    • I will take on account the dress code, accordingly to your event.

    • If it is possible, please consider saving a parking lot space for me, close to the entrance, to load and unload the materials.

    • The required minimum space for me to work and set up my easel and canvas in the  reception venue is 2 x 2 square meters. A vantage point for the painting-in-progress to be seen by your guests, without disrupting the dance floor. I will bring a small floor mat to protect the floor from paint spills and be sure to leave the space spotless.

    • A nearby contact point to connect my light equipment, led lamp, to be able to match the colours properly on the painting palette.

    • Availability around 4 to 6 hours work on location. When the painting is done, you can choose to have a painting reveal moment, or you can see how it develops during the event.

    • You have the choice to keep the painting at the venue, to be finished on the same day. But I would recommend to allow me to take the painting back to my studio and wait a few more days. I’ll add oil paint fine details and varnish against UV rays, to ensure a better protection for your painting.

    • It is optional for you: if you like the painting in a more raw, impressionistic style, you can keep it by the end of the day. If you consider that you would like to adjust some details, I’ll take it back to the studio and deliver to you in around 6 weeks time.

  • Live wedding artistry is a new trend in the wedding industry that's growing in popularity year after year.

The wedding industry is looking for new forms of entertainment for guests, such as portrait artists and live artists.

The paintings and illustrations created on-site create a personal keepsake for guests and a beautiful souvenir for the bride and groom.

In the digital age, live artistry symbolizes human presence and handmade, tangible, artisanal work.

  • A live wedding painter works around 6 hours in plein-air, on your wedding location.

This creates impressionistic brush strokes, capturing spontaneous vibes from the day.

When the painting is taken back to studio, the painter can add touch-ups and fine details. This take around 10 hours extra work.

In this way the painter has more time to spend on detailing the wedding dress, the grooms suit, wedding bouquet and other wishes you may have.

  • Incl. VAT 9%

I work at the wedding location during 4 to 6 hours and extra 10 more hours on touch-ups and details on the painting back at my studio.

The painting is done in around 6 weeks, with 2 layers of UV-light protection varnish.

Standard shipping cost is included inside the Netherlands. You are welcome as well to pick up the painting at my studio or I can bring the painting to your house personally if we happen live in the neighbourhood.

  • Travel expenses € 0.50 per kilometre to location.

Optional extra people portrayed in the painting. €50 per person or pet.

Optional extra delivery cost for customers outside the Netherlands. Includes insurance and track and trace.

  • I usually wrap the painting with tissue paper and bubble plastic inside a recycled cardboard box, which protects the painting and keeps it safe and sound till you receive it at your door. I use Post NL as my main shipping service, which includes track and trace link and insurance.

  • During the intake call, we can discuss your vision, the day and venue.

I make a checklist of your wishes and preferences. Composition types, idea themes, size and format, etc.

I will ask you to check my portfolio and let me know which image would be a good example of what you are looking for.

We calculate a quotation, taking your wishes and preferences into account.

  • In a confirmation call, we can have a second call, this time two weeks before the event.

Here we run through the previously discussed details, in the consultation call, update preferences, canvas size, and every other logistic aspect, to see if something has changed.

This is your opportunity to confirm that everything is still the way you wished for since the consultation call a few months ago. If things have changed, we will update the checklist and details during this call.
